Club 100 Charities and Partners Reach New Heights

In Feeding the Poor and Hungry

For Thanksgiving this year Club 100, in partnership with the Bethlehem Haitian Church of Lake Park, took the challenge of reaching deep into the city of Lake Park to find and feed the poor.  The club brought together a host of community partners to achieve this goal.

Initially, the Club worked with Channel 12 and Channel 5 to spread the word of where and when the Thanksgiving event would occur.  This resulted in over 300 families attending the November 26th Thanksgiving Food Event.  Channel 12, along with the Palm Beach Food Bank, provided some gift cards which could be used by individuals to buy turkeys.  Channel 5 works with many companies in the area and was able to connect the Club with some of them.

Seacoast National Bank customers from branches in Tequesta, Jupiter, and Palm Beach Gardens donated over 4,000 lbs. of food.  By far, they provided the largest contribution.  While several churches provided volunteers and food items, Holy Spirit Lutheran Church provided 4,900 lbs. of food which was packaged by their youth group called Soul Fire.  COSTCO and WHOLE FOODS also provided much needed food and other support, resulting in our ability to turn no family away this year.

The following partners were also a tremendous help:

  1. Howell Watkins Middle School (500+ lbs. of food)
  2. Camille’s Pizza – Lake Park (Weekly Bread items)
  3. Karp Law Firm of P.B.G. (680 lbs. of food)
  4. Illustrated Properties (Food and gifts)
  5. Live Free Chiropractic – Juno Beach (400+ lbs. of food)
  6. Laser & Wellness Center – Jupiter (164 lbs. of food)

We would also like to thank the 25+ volunteers from the Haitian Church plus Holy Spirit Lutheran volunteers, Lake Park City Council and staff, and a Deputy Sheriff from the Lake Park Office for making this Thanksgiving event possible.
